To keep up with changing styles and trends in home renovations, a major Australian flooring retailer was introducing fresh stock to their stores on a monthly basis. This created a build-up of inventory as well as a dilution of new stock sales as consumers were being offered both new and clearance products right next to each other. Our client needed a new clearance strategy to manage their challenges and maximise sales.
Active collaborated with the client and reviewed all options to identify a solution to address the inventory stockpile in multiple markets and remove the in-store competition. A 6-month strategy was agreed upon to move the obsolete stock which included a bi-monthly online auction through Active's partner Grays Online.
The online auction strategy was able to build awareness of Grays being the official 'clearance' partner for this client ultimately moving 100% of the stock, clearing all warehouses of surplus and allowing much needed space for incoming stock.
